Originally from South Korea, Euimin Shin has performed as a violinist in many different countries, including South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and the United States. She earned her B.A. in violin performance from Calvin University, where she also completed a minor in philosophy. Euimin got her M.M. and D.M.A (Doctor of Musical Arts) in violin performance at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Euimin's other interests include the relationship between North and South Korea and peace on the Korean peninsula. She is currently part of an NGO (Next Station) based in South Korea that helps North Korean refugees in South Korean and works towards peaceful reunification in Korea.
